Women's Empowerment

In Ombeyi Ward, Kisumu County, Kenya, we undertook an impactful project aimed at addressing a pressing issue faced by young women in the region. Due to financial constraints, obtaining sanitary supplies has been a significant challenge for these girls, hindering their access to education and overall well-being.

Through our initiative, we successfully provided 164 young women with essential sanitary pads, ensuring they can manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence. By addressing this fundamental need, we aimed to break down the barriers that hindered their educational opportunities and personal development.

Our project not only offered immediate relief but also fostered a long-term impact on the lives of these young women. By enabling them to attend school regularly and participate in daily activities without disruption, we sought to empower them with the tools to achieve their full potential.

Through collaboration with local organizations, community leaders, and dedicated volunteers, we were able to identify the specific needs and challenges faced by these young women. Our efforts to procure and distribute sanitary pads directly addressed their immediate requirements, but we also strived to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and advocate for sustainable solutions in the community.

By addressing this often overlooked issue and promoting dialogue, our project aimed to eradicate the stigma surrounding menstruation while enhancing the well-being and prospects of young women in Ombeyi Ward.

Through our collective efforts, we aspire to create a brighter future for these young women, ensuring that their basic needs are met, their voices are heard, and their potential is unleashed.
